Census of $2 Madison (Scott #312) on Piece or Cover
Thirty-seven thousand (37,000) two-dollar Madison stamps were issued. The stamp was primarily used on heavy mail and parcels. Like the $5 Marshall stamp, almost all used $2 Second Bureau series stamps have been soaked off their respective cover or wrapper for stamp collections. Nine of the covers in this census are also in the $5 Marshall census.
This census aims to document all known covers and pieces bearing the $2 Madison stamp. If you have information about additional items, please contact me (geoff at neddog.com).
